Lisa has inspired me to "use" my equipment. So this week my goal is to "use" my flash in different ways. So this day's "use" was directing light. The funny part was there was a "black" spot in the shot that I just could not figure out. Shadows are hard to find when you play with flash! Thanks Lisa!

I really wanted to try another shot for today but my sweet man made a fire in the fire box when he lite the pit ... so why not use the fire already there?? Then it was so cool to play with the colors (the real shot is below).

Bridal pictures today ... needed a bouquet and as usual I was able to find something I had never seen before to work PERFECT for a bouquet. They were absolutely beautiful! I just hope now that I can find them again in a few months.

I knew I had a picture for this day!! How often do you see a fairly large snake in the medical center? Not often. Apparently this one ended up somewhere he was not wanted!

Here lizard, lizard, lizard ...
So yesterday I came home and there were two lizards on the side of the house biting each others heads off!! Literally, they were locked jaw on each other with their necks all imploded and backs arched. It was hilarious!!! Of course they were gone by the time I got there with the camera. So this little guy was in the right place and actually stayed on the ladder for a bit to pose.

Have you ever had a day when you could really write a book but no one would want to read it. Here is a journal that was given to me .. seriously considering it!

My Grandma has always been a great calligrapher. When I was young she would make our Christmas cards with her own writing and with her own designed artwork. She is so talented and I am so glad that a little of this rubbed off on me. So now the book on how to write beautifully has been passed down to me along with the poetry book she would also use. How wonderful that I can use the same book that taught my Grandmother to learn for myself how to write like she did ... love you Grandma!

One of our hummingbirds came back to check out the new stand for his food. He liked the option of clear and red but no so much of the bees that still linger. Bee killer spray helped with that and he thanked us several times for making them go away.

He posed a few times too.  And then!

When it was too dark for the bird the moon took over. So I was playing with camera settings for a while and look what happened to the moon!

 White fluorescent setting ... strange how the white setting makes the moon look purple. Cool things to play with!

Tball game with Davin. His team had a game of Mom against the team game. Davin's mom is expecting brother so she was not able to play so Auntie was able to step in and play tball. I think the Coach was making up the rules as we went along .. and the Mommy rules were brutal (that's only because it was Davin's PawPaw). What a great game. The kiddo's won of course because the Mom's couldn't stand to get them "out" but what fun. Except for the mom rule of spin around the bat three times before you swing! Davin's Mom got to coach and was a big part of the game. The kiddos had a great time and it was certainly entertaining. Great idea Coach!
