My Grandpa turned 82 and my Uncle turned 65 ... we had a party to celebrate. And I end up outside with the blooming plants. There is a bee in there but he was so active and wouldn't bee still for very long. I just love the red blooms though.

Good Friday ... just took on a whole new meaning.
(the box had an LED light!!!) (and I know not the part to be excited about but it was second, who does that??)

So we had a camera class tonight ... down the street from the zoo there is this really cool building with blue lights. Shaking and almost straight up but I got the lights!

Finally loaded the wedding photos from March 26th! Wow that took longer than I expected but was so worth it. The shots looked so much better with color adjustments and a little cropping in some shots. Still have some "unique" ones to work on but at least the bride and groom have their pictures!

Silver and clear are difficult to photograph ... this is my new wine bottle "guy". Mr. Western Holder came all the way from Canada. He is so cool with his hat and cigar.

When you take a walk down a peaceful road you do hear cars, squirrels, birds and other things that may be in front of or behind you almost without noticing. When you put a camera in your hands and then up to your eye you tend to get distracted by the camera and do not necessarily pay as much attention ... there was a Honda behind me on the road for a good couple of seconds before I hear the passenger laugh. Pretty sad that I heard the laugh of the passenger and not the sound of the car! Anyway, I think it was worth getting the late sun rise through the trees.

Photography class on the Kemah Boardwalk with Kathy Adams Clark. What a great photographer, teacher and friend!
Merry-go-round light painting ... still dizzy!

So the new tripod has arrived and I was able to get ON the ground to take some pictures. Did I need to? No, but it sure was fun!! And my tea cup roses were starting to bloom!!!

Today, April 11, 2011, a very sweet lady was laid to rest. She passed on April 8th and I bought this sign to hang in our home the week before with my Mom. Mrs. Mavis was the sweetest Godly woman that I think I have ever met. She was always telling you how much she missed you, kissing you and giving you the biggest hugs. I know she is at Home with her Savior ... thought this would be appropriate for the day.
Miss you Mrs. Mavis ... almost 90 years old, just 40 days shy of 71 years happily married to her sweet husband.

My new spatula's from Williams Sonoma!! And yes I HAD to bake cookies to try them out. Maybe I'll get some time soon to get to the other Star Wars goodies from the day!

Last day in Galveston for Featherfest. The other girls had an early morning shoot and I did too ... but of a different species. Just about everyone who knows me knows that if flowers are any where close I'll be shooting them! So Galveston's flower the oleander, roses and the fined version of a flower ... dolphin!!!

Day two at the Featherfest .. that STARTED AT 5AM!!!! We were on a San Luis Pass field trip with Larry Ditto. What an amazing and interesting photographer. Standing a mir 6'8" tall and carrying the largest 400mm lens any of us had ever seen! (keep it G!) This was an amazing trip where our photo group felt WAY under equipped for the first time in a while. Bird photographers have really big lenses so they can shoot birds in far away places and in all kinds of places. We as NON-bird photographers have not had a need but sometimes a desire for longer lenses. Anyway, we held our own and got some really great shots of the bird life on San Luis Pass.
Oh, and our feet too!!

Our Galveston Featherfest began today ... so we went to the farm!!! Of course after the first session of our bird photography courses. We were so excited to be able to visit Lisa's farm and see the animals up close and personal. Then after dinner we went back to our "bungalo" and what is across the street? Bishop's Palace all a glow. What a great first day!! Thanks PPWB!

I was driving home from an FFA fair and had taken lots of pictures of bunnies, cows and pigs but nothing that just said PAD. So I pass this field on the way home from I-10 all the time and these cows are always hanging out. Wait ... cows, field, sun going down, camera in car ... PAD!!! So I wanted the fence and cows together but the fence as the focus. Cows ... how cool!

The house across the street from us has some blue bonnets that bloom every year (well this is year 2 for me) and they are so pretty. We didn't have time this year to go in search of a field of them but I understand everyone had the same problem so I don't feel too bad. We ended up with both boys for a little bit of the afternoon and of course I snatched them and went down the street to the wildflowers. They were not too good with the smiles but this little guy was not affected by me at all. I'm not sure you can see it but his legs are full of red stuff!

This was totally Jason's idea for the shot today. Amazing what one can find around the house when the lights are suppose to be off. He did really good this day!! Thanks sweet man!
